Shop to Help Empower Women Worldwide

I love to support small business, and I have a special place in my heart for those owned by women or those that support charities that help women in difficult situations.  I am so proud to announce that Walmart has gotten behind the efforts to support women all over the world with their Empowering Women Together online shop.  The store, which launched today, offers over 200 products from 19 countries -- including the United States!

I love shopping from websites that support fair trade for local artisans and those making an impact in our communities worldwide.  It is so timely that Walmart is doing the same, and I enjoyed taking the day today to peruse the goods and learn more about the businesses and charities that this online initiative could support.

Check out just one group that is being supported by the store - Bean Project:

What can you buy to help out?  In addition to the products that support Bean Project, the Full Circle Exchange blends may be a good route to go.  They are priced competitively with other brand name coffees, and like all Home Free products at Walmart, ship free for orders of $45 or more!  There are other yummy food items in the store, as well, including candies, baking mixes, and chocolate!

You'll also find a changing selection of clothing, housewares, jewelry, books, and gifts.  I found at least a half dozen things I'll want to get for birthdays coming up (and a cute dress that I want for myself.)  The prices are reasonable, and you get the same customer service and shipping policies that you would expect from Walmart.

It's rewarding to know that, with each purchase, consumers lift and empower the women behind these products to create new jobs and improve both their own lives and the lives of their families and communities. Can you imagine what these women could do with our support?  Visit the Empowering Women Together shop to see what unique gifts might be perfect for your next occasion....
