I never used to like Halloween, but this year, I have 5 boys who are so excited to dress up and go Trick-or-Treating!  We get pitched lots of products and ideas for making the evening special, but these were our favorite items tried in 2013.  We hope that they help you shop for only the good stuff! Mike and Ike Halloween Candies

Huge Mike and Ike fan here.  Bigger fan of the varieties that have been rolled out for the Halloween season: Mummy's Mix and Vampire Variety.  I really enjoy the Vampire blend, as all of my favorite berry candies can be found in one box (no picking through them).  These are available in both the boxes big enough to share, and the individual packs that can be handed out to trick-or-treaters!  Keep some for yourself, Mom.. they are awesome mixed into popcorn and would be a great treat for enjoying while watching this season's showing of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!"

Classic DVD's

Speaking of Charlie Brown, are you one of those Moms who get really excited when it's time to watch the annual Halloween Specials?  If so, you're not alone... many parents are just as thrilled as their kiddos when it comes to catching up with their favorite traditional holiday specials.  We'll be vegging out with our favorites, as well as a few new ones.  You can even enter to win one of a handful of great titles in our giveaway!  (Don't want to wait? Own the digital version of The Great Pumpkin from Amazon, and start watching in minutes!)

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Halloween Costumes

My kids have absolutely freaked out upon receiving the new Swap Force game to review.  We'll have more on that later, but for now, they are getting their Halloween plans in order by choosing outfits.  (And that includes trying on a Spyro Costume in size 12-14 for my oldest son!)  We were really impressed with how easy it was for him to put on, and the costume came with everything needed for an authentic Skylanders look: jumpsuit with attached wings and shoe covers and a mask!  These are available in sizes Small, Medium, and Large, so that all of your kids can choose their favorite character and hit the streets Skylander style! (These are on Rollback for just $14.97 at Walmart.com!)

Baby's First Halloween

Costumes for babies are adorable; I remember when my little one dressed up as a cute sock monkey!  For the newborn, however, it's just not practical to dress up much, and the cold weather can complicate matters.  That's why I love this skeleton sleeper for small babies.  It's cute, comfy, and just what a new-to-the-world infant should be wearing this holiday - at just $4.97!
