Celebrate the Season with a Cup of Cheer!

I'll admit to not being very cheery lately.  Despite the fact that we are supposed to be decorating the tree and prepping for the holidays, my kids are all sick with the flu, the baby has been extremely fussy, and we lost both our furnace AND our stove in one week.  I'm barely keeping my head above water in my day-to-day life, and I still have a full-time business and homeschool to keep up with!

You can imagine, then, that I was beyond thrilled to receive a nice gesture of appreciation from our friends at Auntie Anne's.  For those who are new to the blog, they had a group of bloggers visit their home office to get some face time with the founder of the company, as well as learn some mad pretzel-twisting skills!

My "Cup of Cheer Kit" contained some pretty nice items, but you can see how I've put them to use to make my dreary home life a bit more "spirited"...

I used the pretty scented candle to give my living room a "Christmas tree" smell (because the tree we bought is STILL outside due to a crooked trunk and the need to be whittled a little by the hubby)...

I used the included coffee mug to indulge in about 2 more cups of coffee than I should have.. but really need...

I adored the red nail polish that seem a bit silly on my dry, cracked hands (I've been doing a TON of dishes these days)...

I used the bright yellow pail that everything came in to store extra Legos for the boys -- they LOVE carrying their favorite pieces around from room to room. This makes clean-up easy...

As you can see, it's not about the biggest presents under the tree; it's about those around you showing they care in little, simple ways.  I want to give a huge THANKS to the crowd at Auntie Anne's.  They have been wonderful to work with in 2013, and I look forward to following them into 2014.

As a thank you to my readers, 5 people from our loyal group of newsletter subscribers will be getting a coupon good for a free pretzel from Auntie Anne's.  Watch your email inbox to see if you were randomly selected!
