I'm slowly becoming more of a country music fan.  It wasn't that long ago that we went to the Hunter Hayes concert in Omaha, and I even visited Nashville last year for a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and a show at the Opry!

Even if I don't know all of today's most popular country music artists, as a Nebraskan, it's hard to deny my heritage.  (I still really adore some of the most classic crooners, like The Highwaymen, Larry Gatlin, and Johnny Cash....)  This year's ACM awards gives me a chance to get up-to-speed on the music my daughter is likely listening to as well as enjoy some family-friendly viewing.  (Not all awards shows are created equal: the ACM's have been something I've considered "safe" for all ages.)

If you're as excited to watch as I am, you'll likely be getting your family and friends together for some food and fun while you enjoy the show.  We're going to indulge in some quick-to-make dishes.  And, since we eat "country" 7 days a week, I'm thinking we'll have Chinese.....
