This post was done in partnership with Lowe's and P&G. Opinions are always my own.
Guys, if you could see (and smell) my laundry room...
It's not something I'm proud of, but the small room where I keep my washer dryer and mountain of laundry is always the last on my to-do list. This fall, however, I could wait no longer. I added it to my "must-clean" list and got serious with its problems. Specifically, I needed to tackle the funky odor coming from my front-loading washer...
You see, I do all the things you are supposed to do, like leave the door open in between loads, but we wash some dirty, dirty laundry. (It might have something to do with having 5 boys in the house.) But, after a load of particularly dank clothing, I need to "reset" --- and this needed to come in the form of something tough that I could trust to get my washing machine back into full cleaning mode.
I tried out the Tide Washing Machine cleaner, available at Lowe's, and was totally back on my washing game in the amount of time it takes to wash one load of laundry.
This very effective cleaner had it sparkling, smelling fresh, and even gave my laundry room a better smell. Yep, it really was my stinky washer that was making everything a little off-smelling. Now, I'll be able to finish up "Mount Dirty Towels and Bedding" and have the room sorted, scrubbed, and in perfect working order. Have you tried this yet?
In addition to cleaning out my washer, I have done the following to bring new life to my laundry room:
1. Removed cobwebs (why do spiders like it in there so much?)
2. Did a thorough lint trap cleaning
3. Cleaned out the pump under my washing machine
4. Organized my cupboards (Whoa! I found a few packages of laundry detergent I didn't know I had!)
5. Wipe the top and sides of my front-loading machines
6. Place a basket on the to of my washer for everyone to place their "pocket junk" (Now, I know where all the Lego heads go!)
What steps do you take to spiff up your laundry room?
Now that you have this room done, you can tackle other projects in your home. PopSugar has a list of completely possible ideas that you can do -- many in one weekend, using your favorite P&G products!
