A Fun New Twist on Tradition: The Maccabee on the Mantel!

You have all heard of the trend that's pretty popular right now, involving a little doll that sits out to get kids excited about the upcoming holiday, Santa, and presents.  For a good part of our population, however, this doll celebrates just a portion of Christmas, and isn't the best fit for families who celebrate the feasts, Old Testament traditions, or who are specifically Jewish.  That's where I'm happy to tell you about the Maccabee on the Mantel!

This cute little solider doll is a modern way to learn about the story of Hanukkah. He comes with a well-illustrated, hardcover book that would make a great gift for the month of Kislev! As a Christian, I both appreciate the feasts and have much love and respect for my Jewish brothers and sisters.  My kids enjoy learning about this special legacy of the Maccabees.  It's a wonderful way to broaden their knowledge and understand what the holiday means to millions of kids this season.

The book and doll come together as a set in a sturdy, gift box.  The same box can be used to store the doll in the off season. (But he's so cute, I think he'll probably be left out all year long!) You can also purchase just the book or just the doll.

Find out more about this thoughtful new tradition at the official website. You can place your order there, too!
