Ready... Set.. Start Your Holiday Shopping! (And Saving)

I'll admit that I was a bit overwhelmed to see holiday decor up in my Walmart store already, but then I did the math on how much time I had left to shop.  It's less than 8 weeks away!  So what does a family of 8 on a budget have to look forward to with all the "early" holiday offerings?  The savings.

In addition to the option to put items on layaway so that we can budget for it responsibly, Walmart has already started putting items on sale for a really slamming set of deals.

How big is the savings?  See for yourself:

Starting today, Walmart is giving customers more than 20,000 Rollbacks on items including groceries and popular brands such as Disney “Frozen," Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Samsung, and Dell.

Items that go on sale today include:

  • Xbox One for $349, previously $399
  • Samsung 46” HDTV for $528, was $578
  • Dell Inspiron Touch (15.6” Inspiron 15 Laptop PC) for $479, was $549
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 11” Action Figure for $15.88, was $19.97
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle High Flyin Blimp for $24.76, was $29.97 F
  • Frozen Light-up Dress for $28.88, was $34.97
  • Hasbro Nerf Rebelle Secrets and Spies Agent Bow Blaster for $19.88, was $29.96 16
  • Schwinn bikes – Cosmo and Twilight for $69, was $78.87
  • LEGO Lego Movie Spaceship for $80, was $99.97
Tomorrow (Nov. 2nd), the Savings Catcher app will be updated to include price matching on holiday turkey and ham prices!

In 2 days (on November 3rd at midnight), they'll be having their Cyber Savings event for just 24 hours!  These deals include:
Customers can also get 50 percent more trade in value when they trade in a game and purchase “Call of Duty: Advance Warfare.” on the 3rd and 4th!  For customers looking for a new gaming console, Walmart will give double trade in value when they trade in a game and purchase a Playstation 4 system!

So, say "good-bye" to Halloween, and "hello" to Christmas and Hanukkah shopping! (The video below gives a cute clue to how you can save money and usher in the new season.......)

So, have you gotten your game plan in place yet?  I have. I already see a few items on the sales list that my boys will be delighted to open under the tree this year.  With 6 kids, I'll gladly take advantage of any of the savings events I can!

  2. It is hard to imagine! But when you're on a budget, the weeks are much needed to get the best deal on everything. I wish it didn't have to be that way.. but with 8 people in our family, it just is :)
