Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday with BIG Savings on Classic Titles

One fish. Two fish. Red Fish. Blue Fish.

I have always been SUCH a Dr. Seuss fan.  Probably because I was reading very early and his books were among my favorites. Even now, all of my boys have adored his work, regardless of whether they took to reading like a fish in water -- or struggled a bit to get the hang of it.

Even now, you can see that my boys often choose Seuss titles for their required "20 minutes of reading" that we have in our homeschool Monday through Friday.  The little ones adore having their older brothers read the books to them!

To make it easy for families to equip their kids with the quality that comes with Seuss, Walmart is dropping prices on his titles for a limited time.  From now until March 14th, you can get $8.99 beginner books for just $5 (try Green Eggs and Ham) and $4.99 board books for only $3.50 (like the Foot Book)!  This is the perfect way to fill your library with books that will mean something to them later in life.

To make things even more exciting, Random House is launching a Kids You’ll Move Mountains Campaign to send the message that kids really can do BIG things!

They'll be doing a nationwide search for kids ages 5-18 who make things happen in their communities in STEM and the arts  You can find more info about the program here, but there are big prizes for the winners, including:
  • (1) Grand prize winner to receive, in addition to a $10,000 Scholarship Grant: Ride on Goodyear Blimp Trip to Seuss theme park at Universal Studios, Orlando FL (trip for 4, flights provided by JetBlue)
  • (4) winners will receive a $5,000 Scholarship Grant
Which of the Dr.'s books is your favorite? I still have my absolute most-cherished title from when I was a little girl: Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now. As you can see, it's been well-loved over the year (and is held together with tape.) I still read this same copy to my kids!
