Review of John Deere Kernel Shucks Toy

We love all things tractors, and John Deere is a brand that I grew up loving.  Even today, with my own 5 boys, the passion for growing things lives on with our small acreage and garden.  From the time they are old enough to walk, our kids want to ride the tractor!

When I saw the new John Deere toy that we were able to review, Kernel Shucks, I was smitten.  It combines corn (which is kinda a big deal in the Cornhusker state) with open-ended play -- all done up in John Deere colors and logos!

My 18-month-old was the perfect age to try this toy out.  And even though it takes a bit more coordination than he has at this point to fully assemble, he enjoys playing with the parts and letting me show him the finished product!  The 17 mix-and match pieces really do provide a variety of ways to play, and my older son (who is 4) didn't mind helping out, as well.

Even if you've outgrown this kind of toy, it's the perfect collector's item!  You can find it at Walmart.com and JohnDeereGifts.com for under $14!

Wanna Win?  We are giving one lucky reader their very own Kernel Shucks toy!  To be entered to win, just use the form below.  You have until May 8th at 11:59 pm EST to get your entries in. Open to U.S. residents 18+.

  1. My youngest daughter would play with this. She already has a blonde Mrs. Potato head that she calls "Tater Swift." She made that up on her own--I had nothing to do with the horrible corniness!
