What little boy (or girl) doesn't love tractors? Especially when they can actually see them going by their house every day?
My sons are blessed to have a small, 4-acre homestead to grow up on, and many farmers next door run their tractors, combines, and planters during the busy farming season. My sons will sit in the big picture window and watch them work. My 19-month-old is amazed at how big they are!
Since books are becoming part of his world, too, now, a book about tractors definitely got his attention. The new Casey & Friends books for kids features American's favorite brand of "big red tractor" CASE IH, with lots of full-color photos of tractors in action. These books are a great way to teach kids about the work tractors do in today's farming and landscaping operations, and there are dozens of fun facts and learning snippets to expand children's grasp of important S.T.E.M. concepts (like mechanics, physics, and advanced communications.) Follow along with a young girl Casey as she and her worm friend Tillus share important tractor facts with kids in the book we reviewed, titled "Big Tractors."
Imagine reading a book to your kids where they actually enjoy learning about things like soil density, engine horse-power, and PTO shafts! (Parents can learn a thing or two by reading these to their kids, as well. In fact, I was so proud to read that the Case IH tractors are tested using the "The Nebraska Test" -- GO BIG RED!)
Since my husband's first tractor was an old wide-front, Farmall Super MTA (an International from the 50's), we will always have a place in our heart for the big red tractor. (Here is a photo of my husband doing some much-needed work on it!)
If your kids love the farm, technology, or just learning new things, this book deserves a place on your shelf, too!
Just one of the books in the Casey & Friends series, "Big Tractors" is $14.99 and available from Octane Press.
Wanna Win? One lucky reader will get a copy of this book and a CASE IH Magnum 370 CVT Tractor Toy (Built to 1:64 scale). To be entered to win, use the form below by May 29th at 11:59 pm EST. Open to U.S. residents 18+ only.
