The Biggest Story: How the Snake Crusher Brings Us Back to the Garden

We have shelves and shelves of Bibles and Biblically based stories for kids. None of them hold a candle to the originality, truth, and vivid illustration featured in Kevin DeYoung's "The Biggest Story: How the Snake Crusher Brings Us Back to the Garden." This amazing read, illustrated by Don Clark, is a hardcover tale that takes the simple message of the Gospel from the garden and the fall to the cross -- and back again.

How often do your children get confused or off-track by a "story" they remember from Sunday School: the fantastic Noah's ark account, for example.  Are they more distracted by the kinds of animals or are they fully aware of how it ties into God's rescue plan for all people through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ?  Are they expected to memorize details of Old Testament people, without regard to the full context of the salvation message?  If so, then this book is for you.

Don't get me wrong; I love and understand how each individual Biblical account plays a part of a thread woven into the tapestry of God's grace for you and me.  But can kids dig through all the details to see that there is a simple story, a simple plan, and a simple answer for eternal life and blessed assurance of a life with God?

The amazing color pictures and the way the book is written make it appropriate for kids of all ages and grownups, too! I consider this a must-read for all families. It would also make a great gift.
