Summer means shorts and swimsuits, and there's no better way to get motivated for a healthier lifestyle than with a delicious smoothie chock full of nutritious and delicious ingredients. We took a test drive of this Kale Fruit Smoothie. It was surprisingly sweet, indulgent, and full of good stuff!
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 1 apple, core removed and cut into chunks
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1 pkg (about 5 ounces) blueberry Greek yogurt
- 1 cup of kale
- 4 to 5 strawberries
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 drops vanilla extract
Note: This is a sweet smoothie, that I enjoyed even without the vanilla extract. You'll also find that none of the ingredients are frozen, so -- if you enjoy a more "icy" experience, you can choose to freeze the blueberries and yogurt before mixing. Even though the picture on the recipe shows this to be green, mine came out very purple from all the berries, so you can totally trick your kids into drinking kale without the smoothie tipping them off!
I love waking up to a smoothie for breakfast ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I actually really like them as an afternoon snack, as well :)
