My kids love noodles. I mean, LOVE them. And for the most part, I like how easy they are to put on the table. But have you seen what is in some of the noodles available -- especially those for kids? If packing a lunch has you nervous about giving your kids a bunch of additives, you're going to flip over the noodles we were able to sample this week!
Revolution Foods has made it their mission to provide taste meal options for busy kids and their families without compromising on quality or flavor. We put a few of their noodle cups to the test with our own kids to see if they passed our "delicious factor." They did.
The favorite -- by far -- of all the cups we tried was the Sesame Noodles. There was a mixture of noodles, a yummy sauce, and a few veggies. My sons really enjoyed the edamame! Each cup had all that was needed inside, and preparation was a breeze.
While these are made available to be eaten cold directly from a lunch box (since most schools don't have a way to warm up food), we did follow the direction for the warming.
I simply opened the cup, removed the noodles from the little bag, opened the sauce packet and poured that on, then put the lid back on and shook it up before warming in the microwave. Each cup also comes with a spork, so that you don't need to pack silverware. They are made with real veggies, provide 8 to 10 grams of protein per serving and 12% to 20% of daily recommended fiber values, and they have no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners!
Other flavors we tried included Spaghetti Marinara (my toddler's favorite) and Thai-Style Satay Rice Noodles (gluten-free and peanut-free).
