Kazoops is Adorable Fun for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Today is the launch date for yet another super adorable show on Netflix! Kazoops is all my son has been watching today, as he has been a bit under the weather.

You can see the trailer for this gem here:

You'll notice right away that, in addition to being a colorful show aimed at kids 3-6 that features a variety of family members, friends, and pets, there is a bit of Brit flavor to it! That's because it was made by an Australian company "Cheeky Little Media" and also aired on the BBC's children's station. It's now here in the U.S. and Canada!

Since my kids are so used to accents from all over the world in our TV viewing they really felt at home with this series. (But the accent isn't so strong that you can't understand it from the get-go. I actually just adds some charm to the show!) I did have explain what "wellies" were.

The boy in the story (Monty) solves problems -- just like in most shows. But these are no ordinary problems -- or rather they are (but he solves them in a more creative way.) The dilemma of how to clean up is solved with imaginative play involving space-based video games. The question of whether animals wear clothing, is expressed through song. (And the songs... the BEST part of the show! They are so well done and something I would have no problem playing in the car for everyone.) As Monty learns lessons, it usually involves help from his pig Jimmy Jones -- the true star of the show, in my opinion. And critical thinking development is the big bonus for letting your kids watch!
