We are Christians, but that doesn't mean that we don't enjoy teaching our kids about the holiday that so many near and dear to us celebrate -- Chanukah! It's quickly approaching, and we thought it would be fun to sample some new DIY Chanukah dessert kits from Manischewitz. These are just too cute -- and too easy!
First, we tried our hand at the Chanukah Cookies with Decorating Icing. These may have been the simplest of all the products. Pre-made cookies some with a tube of icing in bright, holiday colors! Our kids all loved making their own personalized cookie with the decoration of their choice.
(The cookies have lines in them that help direct kids with their artistry. As you can see, the older ones got more elaborate with their designs. These are just as much fun to eat as they are to decorate! Choose from the Star of David or the Driedel.
There are fun treats that we are looking forward to trying, as well. The Manischewitz Donut Mix Kit and Chanukah House Decorating Kit look like they will be the tastiest.
I look forward to making the donuts for the kids and having them decorate them. (And who doesn't love putting together an edible house?) The House includes all the trimmings including sanding sugar and tiny menorah and mezuzah sugar decorations! What a tasty way to learn about the traditions and beliefs or our Jewish friends....
