BrickPiggy Review - a LEGO Rental Service

We are a LEGO family. We go through so many, so I was really happy to have the chance to be sent and to do a BrickPiggy review. This is a LEGO Rental Service. Unlike other services, this program is very flexible to your needs. I'll be sharing what I loved about it in this review!

First, the company is named from the classic "3 Little Pigs", because the 3rd pig built his house -- out of bricks! I have a small home, and we deal with clutter all the time. It is my nemesis. So anything that lets the kids play with something, then get it out of here is tops in my book!

Here is how it works:

Kids get to pick from a number of themed sets. My boys love Star Wars, so that's what we settled on for this BrickPiggy review. The package arrived in a cool orange mesh bag with everything needed to build. Parts were even separated out into 3 smaller bags for easy location and identification. My boys built and played with their set, for up to 30 days. Then, when they were done, they put everything back into the original mesh bag (they do NOT need to separate back out the parts again), and put the whole thing into a pre-paid plastic, mailbox-ready package. We stuck it in the mailbox and were all done!

Our BrickPiggy Review

If you really like the set, you can buy it, and it is less than at stores. I really liked this cool feature.

It's a bit different from other LEGO rental places, in that it honors the fact that some kids want to keep a set for awhile to play with. 30 days is a good long time. Other programs allow unlimited rentals within a time period, but that always made my kids feel rushed in trying to get their money's worth in sets for the month. With this, you pay for a set as often as you feel like it. I love that we don't have to hurry up and play with a set before the month ends! There is lots of time for leisurely play -- as it should be!

The first shipment comes with a brick separator to make it easy for kids to take their creations apart before sending back. They also reward kids with a fun surprise after they return 3 sets on time, with no missing pieces.

If your child does lose a piece, it's not the end of the world, but we do try to teach our kids to keep things in the condition in which they were lent. Even though this is a BrickPiggy review, and we were lent the set free to try, if we were to lose a major piece or more than a couple, I would want my kids to buy the set out of principle.
