My toddler is always wanting to get into his brothers' PLAYMOBIL toys, so I was happy to have him try a product designed for his age group. The PLAYMOBIL 1.2.3. My Take Along Farm review we did left him so happy! He has adored animals and the whole idea of a farm for a long time. This toy set gave him a way to reenact situations that are familiar to him, and also give us a chance to learn more about animals and farms, too!
What's included in this toy? You get quite a bit. We were happy to see the fold-up barn, animals, feeding accessories, people, and furniture. While there are enough pieces to set up a good play experience, there are not so many that you are always wondering if you have everything. They are a good size (safe for kids 18 months and up), so you can find them on the floor --- and kids can actually help put them away.
The barn itself folds and snaps shut. You can also use the front door to take animals in and out. My son did have a bit if trouble with this step. At three, he didn't quite have the dexterity to push up on the front window where the circle tab is to give the doors clearance to open. I just helped him when we first set up the barn, and the rest was pretty much all him.
During the week of our PLAYMOBIL 1.2.3. My Take Along Farm Review, we found Manny's favorite things to do include making the animals eat the hay and drink "wadooo" (his word for water) from the water containers. He also made animals noises and made the people talk and work. It was a great set for him. He loves imaginative play, and this is in line with our views on allowing as much open-ended play as possible at that age.
