Disney's The Lion King Printables and Recipes

We had such a great time watching our final movie of the summer with our kids this year. My daughter was getting ready to go off the college, and we had a quiet evening to indulge in my favorite Disney move of the 90's -- The Lion King! The Circle of Life Edition is finally here, and I'm so excited about all the new features.

This movie was always such a bittersweet film. But the music was amazing and it really inspires kids. I was so blessed to enjoy it with another generation of kids. To help celebrate, we set up a screening party at home with printables, crafts, and a fun recipe!

First, we downloaded the free printables pack below.

There was a good number of coloring sheets, a maze, craft tutorials, and even a drawing tutorial that my teenage son snagged right away.

We also received a fun prize pack from Disney to set up for our screening party. I'm really in love with the Funko Pop Simba! I think he's my favorite Pop I own now!

Finally, fruit is really in season here right now, so what better way to experience the color and magic of this film than with a festive fruit salad? We mixed honeydew, blueberries, cantaloupe, and grapes to create a "no worries" snack for the kids to eat while we watched the film.

Add a couple of bright orange and yellow marigolds as a garnish, and it really brings out the message of "Hakuna Matata!"

Will you be watching this adorable film with your kids? If you haven't yet seen it, note that it explores some sad themes at times. My 3-year-old was very bothered by the death of Simba's father early in on the movie, but the outcome of the film is worth the pain. It's such a great message for kids to get about families, love, and legacy. (And our little guy got into the music so much, he kind of forgot about the sad part.)

Get this movie, re-released for a new generation, on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD tomorrow!

*Thanks to Disney for the review copies and merchandise. Opinions are my own.
