Our home has dealt with fires, floods, and a small tornado in the 7 years we've lived here. Needless to say, we are done with the drama. That's why we are always on alert for new products that make keeping our home safe an easy process. One that we were given as sample to review -- and that we hope to introduce into many areas of our home -- is the Delta Leak Detector.
First, this unit is super simple to use. It comes with just what you see here. The only thing you need to provide is a screwdriver to open the battery housing and an iphone or compatible Apple iOS device to control the app.
Set up takes less than 5 minute. Install the batteries, find the "Delta Leak Detector" app in the App store, download it, and set up your free account.
Your phone will find your detector automatically. (Make sure you are connected to wi-fi.) After confirming your account via email, you're done!

Delta Leak Detector Review
First, this unit is super simple to use. It comes with just what you see here. The only thing you need to provide is a screwdriver to open the battery housing and an iphone or compatible Apple iOS device to control the app.

The detector is ready to be placed anywhere you may experience a leak (such as under the sink, in the laundry room, or near a hot water heater -- which is where I put mine.) The app even shows you exactly where to place the unit for best results!
We tested the unit by allowing a couple of small drops of water to touch the unit. We received an alert within a minute -- straight to my cell phone. My app was also updated with this status. (The unit itself beeps and lights up, as well, so that anyone in the home -- even those with the app -- can be alerted.)
One other handy feature of the unit is that you can customize the upper and lower temperature limit alerts. Placed in an uninsulated closet, you might want to make this warmer or colder. In your home, you could set it to let you know about a furnace failing (and the potential for damaged pipes -- another cause of flood damage!)
