DuckTales: Destination Adventure is Here!

Raise your hand if you were a DuckTales fan growing up! I'm so excited to share this animated franchise with my kids via a new series that full of voice and art talent. The DuckTales: Destination Adventure DVD is out now, and my kids cuddled up on the couch to get a glimpse of what I think is one of the most promising series out right now!

What's is about? Here's the premise:

An ancient tomb in Toth-Ra, the mountain peak of Mt. Neverrest, a vacation island for Greek gods…global expeditions await! Thanks to Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby, trillionaire Scrooge McDuck is back in action, leading the way to death-defying exploits stretching all the way from Duckburg to legendary destinations around the world. Let the greatest family adventures begin!

The best part isn't the storyline, however. We reviewed a screener of this amazing DVD and enjoyed the voice talents of David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck; Danny Pudi as Huey Duck; Ben Schwartz as Dewey Duck; Bobby Moynihan as Louie Duck; Kate Micucci as Webbigail (Webby) Vanderquack; Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack; Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley; and Tony Anselmo as Donald Duck! Yes, those are some pretty awesome actors in that mix!

They even feature Lin-Manuel Miranda (of Hamilton fame) as Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera aka Gizmoduck (featured in one episode*). This DVD will keep your kids entertained for an afternoon or a weekend, depending on how many episodes you let them binge at once. The disc contains the following episodes:

  • The Beagle Birthday Breakout!
  • The Living Mummies of Toth-Ra!
  • The Impossible Summit of Mt. Neverrest!
  • The Spear of Selene!
  • The Missing Links of Moorshire!
  • Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!*

Also included are two classic episodes from my youth:

  • New Gizmo-Kids on the Block
  • Ducky Mountain High

Get this animated treasure now. My kids adored it. And the song we grew up loving (that amazing theme song) has enough of the original allure to make it special, but it's modernized a bit to make it relevant for today's kids. I really think you'll get a kick out of this series, which is rated TV-Y7 -- making it appropriate for the whole family!
