We have been loyal users of the Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player for years, and it always amazes me how relevant it is as a gadget that connected, modern families can use to cut costs and become more productive.

As a homeschool family, we use it daily to stream homeschool lessons from our main PC from a Chrome Browser to our family TV. It's easy to select the "cast" option from any browser tab, the desktop or popular apps like YouTube to show any screen or video on the television. Math class has never been so simple to get the kids to sit down and enjoy.

We also use it quite a bit for entertainment. When I see a clever video on YouTube, it's fun to cast it to everyone from my desktop or phone. We often enjoy movie trailers, podcast videos, and full-length movies through the YouTube Red service.

To get started using your Google Chromecast Streaming Media Player, simply plug it into the HDMI port of your choice on the TV, the power cord into an outlet, and follow the instructions on your  TV screen to connect the Chromecast to your wifi network. You'll be streaming within minutes, and you can add your favorite Google Play channels, apps, and more to share and do more with the whole family! (Check the Chromecast site for full details on all the apps and services that work with your Chromecast.)

Enable the hands-free voice activation on your phone or mobile device and get watching. Say
“Ok Google, play Stranger Things from Netflix on my living room TV.”  -- and you'll be streaming in seconds.

There's no need to get a "smart" TV with the Chromecast, either. Save big money when you use your existing TV to watch all the shows you like with high-speed wireless connectivity from your home network.
