Spooky Reads for the Little Ones This Halloween

I love some good, scary reads this time of year, and as a wanna-be thriller writer, I am always excited to see what new titles come out. We are happy to introduce you to our favorite picks of the frightful season. These Halloween titles are sure to delight (and maybe send a few chills up your spine.)

The Frightful Ride of Michael McMichael

The Frightful Ride of Michael McMichael

Just a little dark and very entertaining, this book by Bonny Becker has amazing illustrations and a super creepy premise. What would you do if you got on a bus with a driver like this? It's a rhyming book that's sure to make you laugh. Adorably illustrated by Mark Fearing, it's perfect for kids 4-8 -- or older!

Peppa Pig and the Halloween Costume

Peppa Pig and the Halloween Costume

Peppa fans (like my son) will love this brightly-colored read that shows how difficult and exciting it can be to find the right costume for the holiday. Peppa struggles a bit to come up with an idea that hasn't been chosen already by friends. Thankfully, her family is there to help her make an impressive outfit at the last minute. (Perfect for ages 2-5)

Boo Who?

Boo Who?

This super cute board book by Ben Clanton explores what it's like to be an outsider and how friendships can be made at any time -- especially at Halloween. This is a great book that shows feelings we all have about fitting in and is geared toward the youngest readers (but adults will love it, too.)

Thanks to Candlewick Press for sending us these boo-tiful titles to review!
