Walmart has done just this. They have asked everyday kids which toys make them smile, are fun to play with, and have the potential to create great memories. Their results are compiled in a Top 20 List, appropriate titled "Chosen by Kids"!
We took a look at a few of the toys on the list in deciding what things to get our own kids. We have 5 boys ranging in age from 1 year to 11, so there is always a great opportunity to explore new toy trends. We also want to be careful with our money, so hearing what other kids have enjoyed has given me a little confidence that my own kids will like them, too!
First up on the list was the Go! Go! Smart Vehicles Amazement Park Play Set. We reviewed it in detail here, including a video. I'm so glad we trusted the Chosen by Kids list for this toy. It had everything we needed for our two boys, ages 1 and 4, to enjoy some quality "bonding" time together. We just need to buy a few additional cars (since the set just comes with one), and I think we're set for under the tree.
The 2nd item on the list was the AirHogs RC Zero Gravity Laser Racer. This item was such a novel concept, as it uses a laser light to guide the RC car along the floor and up and down walls! As someone who has wanted to get a quality RC car for my 9-year-old I was interested to see how this worked. It did take a little practice to figure it out, but it has such great potential to entertain my boys for hours.
Here is our first try with the car in a video:
We already shared another cute item on the list: Disney's Princess Puppy Palace Pets. You can see more about it here. And don't forget the cute Sew Cool machine!
I can't remember a year when I've been more excited to see my kids open their gifts! Will you be buying any of the Chosen by Kids toys?
