Awhile back, I read Jessica Fischer's blog and was inspired by the best idea I had ever read in my life. She had shared a recipe that involved cooking rice in the oven. And, as someone who struggled with sticky and under-cooked rice drama, I was hooked. Since then, I have always cooked my rice in the oven. I have adapted several different ways to make it, however, depending on the flavor profile I'm looking for.
Here is my favorite way to cook rice!
Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, or until the water has cooked into the rice.
Remove from the oven, let stand 5 minutes, and serve. This is so fluffy and flavorful!
This is our favorite rice to serve with our Jazzy Red Beans and Rice with Polish Sausage and Turnip Greens! Double the recipe, and you'll have leftovers for making Chinese fried rice, rice pudding, or for mixing into soups and stews!
